Generalized
Linear Acceleration applied to the forehead

HIC

Pass or Fail

At present the injury that the human head is subjected to is predicted by the Head Injury Criteria (HIC) as defined by the Federal Safety Standards MVSS 208 and the EC Regulations. This criterion is inadequate, as it is not based on a thorough understanding of injury mechanisms. Brain injuries are the result of complex dynamic inter-related rotational and translational injury mechanisms. CIC's models can be used as an engineering and medical tool to understand the biomechanics of head injury and develop a Comprehensive Head Injury Criteria (CHIC).

Input

Localized
Linear & Angular Accelerations,
Force Deflections,
Pressure Stress & Strain
