The project consisted of improving occupant safety in coaches, city-buses and minibuses through accident investigations, full-scale and component testing, numerical simulations and the development of new and improved test procedures. The project duration was three and a half years, completed on 30 June 2003.

CIC’s involvement included the following work:-

  • Accident reconstructions using PC-Crash software
  • Free motion headform testing of interior components
  • Full-scale crash testing of M2 vehicle for frontal impact and rollover
