Heavy Goods Vehicles Safety

CIC has been involved in a major research and development project for the Department of Transport (UK) on the safety of heavy goods vehicle cabs. This has involved accident research and simulation, critical appraisal of the current and the proposal of possible future safety standards.

In the field of heavy goods and special purpose vehicles the main references are :

• Research and development of heavy goods vehicles underrun guards
• Development of the first advanced 'crew safety cab' for fire fighting vehicles
• Definition of company safety standards
• Research, design and analysis on penetration resistance problems in LPG fuel tanks
