Side Impact Protection

With the new EC Directive on Side Impact Protection in operation, cost effective and rapid simulations to hone the performance of components that are likely to provide the best occupant protection environment are essential. More and more manufacturers are now coming to CIC for this type of service and expert advice.

Our expertise caters for the conflicting requirements of both European and American side impact regulations and the need to build vehicle structures that, where feasible, do not have mutually incompatible solutions.

Component and sub-structure testing aids confidence in the computer simulations and enables the construction of models that have sufficient detail to provide accurate results in the shortest possible timescales. Prototype component construction and testing coupled with vehicle testing ensure a complete service to customers.
