Large Pendulum

CIC’s large pendulum impactor features a parallelogram action that constrains the impact face to remain vertical at all times. A base unit in front of the pendulum can either be free to move, as in low speed bumper impacts to simulate the mass of the vehicle, or fixed to side supports to provide a rigid platform.

This facility is aimed at the automotive, aerospace and other sectors for the impact testing and assessment of smaller structures; larger structures may be accommodated by our Sled Impact Test Facility. Typical applications include:

• Rail, Road and Racing Vehicle Components
• Aircraft Components
• Engineering Structures for the Nuclear and Offshore Oil Industries
