Test Rigs

VCA Approved Seat Homologation Rigs

CIC has established a seating laboratory for homologation, product research and development activities. This consists of a dynamic and static test rig for seat strength and head restraint testing. Both rigs - capable of satisfying a range of Federal and European legislative requirements - have been type-approved for use by the UK’s Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).

Static Seat Test Rig

• Seat Back Loading, Headrest Loading and Displacement Measurements
• Satisfies tests defined in 74/408/EEC, 78/932/EEC, R17, R25 and FMVSS 202

• Can also be used for Back Loading to satisfy FMVSS 207

Dynamic Seat Test Rig

• Pendulum Impactor capable of carrying out Seat Energy Dissipation Testing
• Satisfies tests defined in 74/408/EEC, 78/932/EEC, R17 and R25

 Full data acquisition is available together with the option of video and high-speed colour digital photography.

Full confidentiality is assured in a secured test environment.
